The Degree
Bradley's Finance students are trained to adapt to rapidly changing and competitive environments. Innovation, creativity, and analysis are integrated into a diverse and rigorous program preparing students for graduate school or work in research, design, promotion, and management. Students in the program learn to understand the problems of obtaining and using monetary resources and financial risk management. The program helps students develop analytical and communication skills and to learn to use computers for analysis and presentations. The major is flexible, allowing students to select courses preparing them for work in fields such as:

  • corporate finance
  • investments
  • futures
  • forward markets
  • options markets
  • real estate
  • insurance
  • personal financial planning

In addition to the traditional undergraduate program, Bradley offers the Integrated 3:2 Program, which is designed for students who want to earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Finance. Applicants meeting academic requirements at the end of their junior year are guaranteed admission to the Master of Quantitative Finance Program.

International Financial Management and Financial Institutions and Markets courses are sometimes offered off campus in locations such as London and New York City.

Opportunities at Bradley
Students may join the Bradley Investment Organization which develops a mock equity portfolio to practice tracking and analyzing securities. Members meet weekly to discuss traditional and nontraditional investment instruments and current events and market activity that relate to their portfolios. The group also sponsors investment seminars, guest speakers, and annual trips to the Chicago Board of Trade, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and Federal Reserve Bank. Other student organizations for finance majors include:

  • Financial Management Association
  •  Financial National Honors Society
  •  Women in Business
