A SCHOOL ON THE MAIN LAND

I was nervous searching for the right school during my senior year. I wanted the transition from high school into college to be smooth. I wasn’t looking for a big school, and I didn’t want a tiny college. Visiting was tough since I lived so far away. After narrowing my choices and choosing Bradley, I discovered a university that has been my ticket to an endless list of possibilities.

I LOVE TO BUILD

Bradley's diverse intellectual population submerged me in the opportunity to challenge myself, getting involved outside of the classroom. With so many different organizations serving different interests, there has been no end to the outlets I could plug into. Finding other people at Bradley who like to build relationships as much as I do has given me a group of new friends. Being involved with COBRA (Competition Oriented Bradley Robotics Alliance) I’m going to be flying to California to destroy robots for five days. As a member of the Association of Latin American Students (ALAS), I went to Chicago for Spring Break to represent Bradley in the U.S. Hispanic Leadership Institutes national conference. All in all, students throughout campus are dedicated, and while representing personal traditions boldly, we’ve been able to share our experiences with each other. The growth I’ve undergone since coming here has been incalculable.

LEARNING TO THINK DEEP

Rather than sitting in huge classes with hundreds of students, I was relieved to discover the intimate class setting. The professors take to heart the classes they teach, creating a positive learning environment in and out of the classroom. They build relationships with their students. Class discussions are relaxed and geared to open our minds. I found in this student-focused atmosphere that there are no limits to what you can discuss – and no limits to what you can achieve.

OUR DIFFERENCES FORM A COMMUNITY

Bradley’s diverse intellectual population submerged me in the opportunity to challenge myself, getting involved outside of the classroom. Everyone is different and I’ve had the chance to build exciting relationships with people from across the globe.
