My greatest experience in life started at the Hench Studios at Bradley University. That's were Bradley produces Midstate Magazine. The first time I walked into the studios, back when I was just a senior in high school, I sat in the control room to watch a live taping of the show. I said to myself, "One day, I will be the host of this show." My freshman year, I walked in feeling like a star determined to shine. Something worked. In my first semester, I was given the honor of becoming the host of Midstate Magazine. I have been committed to the television show for five consecutive semesters experiencing all aspects of television. Midstate Magazine is the foundation for my future success because I plan to become an entertainment television personality.
Dr. Bob - my mentor. He's not like any other professor I've ever seen. He never wears a shirt and tie. He is always dressed in his Harley Davidson gear from head-to-toe. When he's not in the studio, you can catch him on his Harley motorcycle. But don't let the Harley Davidson look fool you; he's an angel. His wisdom and dedication to his students has served as my stepping-stone into a world of imagination. The opportunity to work with an Emmy Award winning person provides a sense of comfort because we share the same passion - to be exceptional in our field of interest. His Emmy is a sign he knows TV. His Samuel Rothberg Award for Professional Excellence is a sign he's a great teacher.
My mom knows that my passion in life is to become a television personality for an entertainment company in a leading media market. She was looking online for the right program to get me there and we stumbled upon Bradley. She knew my passion was television and she wanted me to learn in an environment that had a program in just that. We were both highly impressed that the Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts had more than a communications degree. They had a real Electronic Media program for radio and television broadcasting. We saw at their Web site the variety of students and graduates working in some of the leading media markets all over the nation from New York to California. |
