Campus Visits

Danielle Cooper, Springfield, IL, Health Science

I FEEL AT HOME HERE

Bradley was the only school I visited. I really liked the size, and it made a good impression on me. It definitely seemed like a place I wanted to be.

A GREAT PLACE TO START

Currently, I am a Health Science major at Bradley, and I will be applying to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program. Bradley came highly recommended to me as a school to look at for Physical Therapy. I spoke to the Director of Rehabilitation at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL, about colleges. Bradley came highly recommended as a school to look at for Physical Therapy.

I'M A LEGACY

My dad is Bradley alum, so I always knew about Bradley. When I began my college search, Bradley happened to be one of the schools on my list not only because of my dad, but because of its Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.

I LIKE TO PLAY WITH A PURPOSE

Through Bradley, I received the opportunity to volunteer at Easter Seals. I assist with the Splashercise program which is a warm water exercise class for children with disabilities or specific diagnoses age six through eighteen. I like to think of it as "playing with a purpose." It gives them an outlet for therapy that's not so structured.

I know I'm in the right major. I like science, and I like the hands on approach that Bradley's program offers. Next year, I will apply to DPT programs at Bradley, and other colleges, but Bradley is my first choice again.

I DON'T LIKE TO BE BORED

When I was in high school, I was able to take a lot of dual credit courses through a local college. Luckily, when I started at Bradley, all of my credit transferred, and I realized that it would be possible for me to get done with my undergraduate degree in three years.

My professors have been great, and my advisor has been so helpful helping me to get through my Bachelor of Science degree in three years. This will allow me to apply to Bradley's Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program a year earlier. I admit, it was tough, and I had to work hard, but I am proud of it. I don't just stay home and study, either; I am involved and I am busy. I guess I don't like to be bored.
