Bradley was very persistent about sending me information on a regular basis. It stuck out as a neat environment with lots to offer, both in and out of the classroom. So, when they held a program fairly close to me, I decided to attend.
The summer before my junior year, Bradley held a program in Wisconsin fairly close to me. I decided to attend. An admissions representative told us all about Bradley, and there was even a parent there from our area who had a photo album of her son's four years at Bradley. The class sizes are small and we have a lot of group projects. The professors encourage you to volunteer in your field to gain experience to go along with your classes. Bradley is a small campus. My sister went to the biggest state school in Wisconsin, and it was way too big for me. I felt like I fit in here. I definitely made the right choice.
I knew I wanted to be in the health care field, so I originally applied to Health Science. I was raised with a positive and healthy lifestyle, so I eventually decided to change my major to dietetics. Last year, I was named Intern of the Year by the Smith Career Center at Bradley. Through the University of Wisconsin Extension program, I was able to gain an internship with the Boys and Girls Club at a camp in Wisconsin. I was the nutrition educator for the camp and taught the kids basic concepts of nutrition and hygiene. I talked to them about proper hygiene, like how to wash your hands before you eat and how to eat healthy. |
