In America's Best Colleges 2010, U.S.News & World Report recognized Bradley as the top Illinois university of its type and number six overall among Midwest universities providing a full range of undergraduate and master's programs. Nationally, the College of Engineering and Technology was ranked 34th and the mechanical engineering program was rated eleventh for undergraduate engineering schools. U.S. News also recognizes Bradley as the fifth highest Midwestern school in the ranking of “Best Values”. This best value ranking compares a school's academic quality, as indicated by its ranking, to the net cost of attendance for a student receiving the average level of need-based financial assistance.
Again this year, Bradley was included in The Princeton Review's The Best 371 Colleges. The Princeton Review uses current student observations to describe the top 15% of universities in the nation. Students surveyed for the Review said Bradley has a small-school atmosphere due to its “intimate class settings” and “devoted professors." Bradley and its academic programs are described as united by “passion, tradition and a striving for consistent improvement and excellence.”
Petersons440 Colleges for Top Students selects Bradley from a group of nearly 4,000 colleges and universities that “attract and admit an above-average share of the nation’s high achieving students.”
Colleges of Distinction includes Bradley among a select group of less than 200 colleges with an excellent reputation among high school guidance counselors, education professionals, employers and graduate schools. The guide notes that “Bradley balances a wide variety of academic choice with small classes; hundreds of student organizations with a close-knit student community; and nationally-recognized faculty who focus on teaching.”
Forbes.com ranks Bradley University among the top 10 percent of undergraduate colleges and universities in America. The Forbes website evaluated universities based on seven million student evaluations of courses and instructors, alumni recognized in Who's Who in America, the percentage of students who graduate in four years, average student debt, and students and faculty who have won distinguished national awards. In the last two years, examples of the impact being made nationwide by Bradley graduates include alumnae who have received a Pulitzer Prize and an Academy Award.
